1.) Complete the ten sentence stems.
1- A specific situation when someone assisted me was when I looked for teachers help in preparing for my upcoming Biology exam.
2- A specific situation when I assisted someone else was when my mom needed help setting up her internet.
3- A specific situation when I made assisting someone else more important than my own success and happiness was when I skipped out on playing basketball with friends and helped my grandpa with yard work.
4- When someone asks for my assistance I usually feel 1) glad they're asking for my help, yet 2) sometimes uneasy if I already have plans of my own.
5- When I think of asking someone else for assistance I usually feel thankful and glad if they can help me out, but sometimes skeptical if I'm not sure if they are the right person to ask.
6- What usually gets in the way of my asking for help is what will they think of me because I couldn't do it myself.
7- If I often asked other people for assistance I would question my ability to make my own decisions.
8- If I joyfully gave assistance to others I would feel accomplished and better about myself.
9- If I gratefully accepted assistance from others I would probably have better outcomes, but, I don't think it would be completely my work.
10- One goal that I could use assistance with today is studying for my Calculus exam.
2.) Write about what you discovered by completing the sentence stems.
I think my relationship with others is interdependent. In the past, I get most of what I'm looking for by doing my own work and accept help when I really need it. More presently, I have found if I ask for help more, but not too much, I will have better outcomes.

Journal Ch. 4
Entry #15
1.) List the successes you have created in your life.
One success in my life was graduating high school, I completed this without failing any courses and did well overall. Another success included winning multiple championships in city league basketball.
2.) List personal skills and talents.
A few things I am skillful at include basketball, lacrosse, and snowboarding. Outside sports I believe I am fairly talented at math and writing.
3.) List positive risks that you have taken in your life.
Changing my major from business to computer science was one risk I have taken. I had no background at all in programming and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. It turned out that I actually like computer science and am doing well in the class.
4.) List important actions you presently have some resistance about doing.
In various classes I am sometimes timid about answering questions I'm not sure about, also there is resistance when asking questions every now and then, in that I don't want to ask a stupid question. Also there is a job this summer I know I want to do, however, I am a bit nervous because I have never had a job involving computers or testing programs.
5.) Write a visualization of yourself successfully doing one of the actions listed in step 4.
I am offered a job testing computer programs for the summer. I know this will help me greatly in the long run, so, I am going to give it my best effort. I am on the way to work, it is my first day, I get there and everyone is friendly and willing to help me out. I am thoroughly trained to do the work, so I know what I have to do for the job. It goes well and I am asked to return for more work.
